It features (2) Championship 18-Hole golf courses unencumbered by residential communities. Like many other local golf courses Bonaventure Country Club suffered from a couple of lackluster years and in May 2012 the owner filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy following a July foreclosure action by one of its lenders and a plan in August to sell half of its golf course.     Woodmont Country Club (Cypress Course) is located within the City of Tamarac (Broward County) just west of University Drive and North of McNab Road. Many consider it a challenging golf course where a good mix of length off the tee box and great iron play is needed.  In my opinion there is definitely a third ingredient to the equation as the fast and undulating greens will surprise you from time to time. It is a gorgeous golf course that stands at 7,043 yards and winds thru a residential area well blended with beautiful natural settings. The course makes a great complementary layout to the more famous East Course whish has been the host of numerous Pro Events and PGA Qualifiers. The outward nine is slightly more forgiving with wide fairways, receptive greens and short-cut areas, but the inward nine is where the real challenge lies. The greens are more boldly contoured and the bunkering is tighter along the landing areas and greensides.
