GOLFBUDDY LAUNCHES FIRST EVER LASER RANGEFINDER
The Golf GPS leader introduces its LR5 and LR5S, its most technologically advanced lasers to date
La Palma, California June 9, 2015 – GolfBuddy continues to lead the GPS & Laser Rangefinder categories with the launch of the LR5 and LR5S, the company’s first Laser Rangefinder units in the U.S. market. Both devices, which received very positive feedback from their highly anticipated reveal at the 2015 PGA show, are now available throughout the country at leading retailers and pro shops. The laser units’ water-resistant ergonomic body design, unmatched precision, and accurate distance-to-hole calculation provides golfers with an essential competitive advantage on the golf course.
“We are very excited to debut our premier Laser Rangefinders, devices that demonstrate GolfBuddy’s commitment to superior technology and intuitive ease of use,” said Harry Jung, president of GolfBuddy. “Designed for precision and durability, GolfBuddy anticipates that golfers will be very impressed with the accuracy, speed, and practical settings of the LR5 and LR5S.”
The differentiating feature of the GolfBuddy LR5 is its ability to scan a golf course in just one click. Weighing under 8 ounces, the LR5 provides multiple distance readings with three targeting modes: standard, scan, and pin mode, and defaults to the user’s “last used” settings. With one click, the scan and pin modes allow for a continuous 10 second scan to provide distances to varying targets. In addition, once the laser is activated, a target box will appear and blink so you can easily focus in on your target. The Laser device is accurate to the yard, boasts a 6x magnification feature as well as an energy-saving feature to optimize its battery life of 3,000-5,000 actuations. The portable LR5 comes with a battery, a travel case, and an adjustable eyepiece. MRSP: $299.99
The GolfBuddy LR5S device boasts all of the same capabilities as the LR5, but includes a renowned slope feature that provides elevation adjusted distances to the hole. This device instantly calculates the distance in yards or meters with the ability to include uphill or downhill yardage. The LR5S will provide golfers who are really striving to improve their game with the ability to accurately identify position-to-hole distances on each course he or she plays.
