North Miami, Fla. – September 19, 2012 – Johnson & Wales University North Miami Campus announces the appointment of A.J. Broderick as the new head golf coach for the men’s golf program.
In his new position, Broderick will work directly with the men’s golf team to recruit, train, and coach players. He will be responsible for the total development and promotion of the team as well as organize and schedule practices and matches. He will ensure that the men’s golf team will continue their record of being 2005 NAI National Champions, 33 NAIA All-Americans, and 17 NAIA All Scholar-Athletes.
“Broderick brings a wealth of tournament golf knowledge as well as a strong desire and work ethic to develop emerging talent,” said Loreen Chant, Johnson & Wales University North Miami campus president. “We know that he will turn our already award winning team into an even stronger team and we look forward to a great golf season.”
A proud Johnson & Wales alumnus, Broderick earned his degree in special events and entertainment management. He received many scholastic and athletic honors in his senior year, including National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) All-American in both academic and athletic categories as well as being named the Johnson & Wales player of the year. Broderick’s ten years of golf industry experience includes touring Europe as a professional player while being the first assistant golf professional at Miami’s prestigious Westview Country Club, a private golf club in Miami. After serving as the Assistant Coach and recruiter for Johnson & Wales this past year, Broderick has been promoted to head golf coach. Broderick continues to grow as he pursues his PGA master professional director accreditation.
